IGF 2018: An Intervention from MicroBoss

AN OFFICIAL INTERNET GOVERNANCE FORUM REMOTE HUB IN ABUJA, NIGERIA.

The spotlight from this weekend is on Paris-France, venue of the thirteenth annual meeting of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) with the theme INTERNET of TRUST!

The Government of France is hosting the three-day meeting at the headquarters of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), in parallel with the Paris Peace Forum on 11-13 November 2018. In announcing the offer, President of France Emmanuel Macron emphasized the importance of welcoming the IGF in Paris to share ideas and advance discussions on Internet governance issues.

The IGF is a multistakeholder forum open to all. Past IGF meetings have attracted between 2,000 and 3,000 participants, representing all regions and stakeholder groups, including Governments, the private sector, civil society and the technical community. The 2017 IGF in Geneva, Switzerland, gathered over 2,200 participants from 142 countries, with thousands more stakeholders participating online as was the case of the IGF Hub in Abuja hosted by MicroBoss Technologies and a few partners.

Here, participants can follow the discussions; watch the event; follow real-time closed captioning; and participate live asides joining in discussing the themes introduced at the IGF from local perspectives.

The hub would be open from 9am each day, and entry to the event venue is free on registration here. Participants may wish to come along with a laptop and headphones. There would be gifts to be won for constant attendance and engagement during the event.
